I wonder if anyone knows if there's a font available on Husqvarna called
"Pristina"? I may have the spelling wrong, but that's how it sounded to me.
I need to use it, or something similar, for a coffee-house name on aprons.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't know if Husqvarna has such a font already digitized, however, if
you have the proper software, you should be able to digitize any font
that's available on your computer. If that font is not installed on your
computer, you may be able to download/purchase it from an online source.

The computer font Pristina is a light, script-y font with some very
thin strokes -

There are also other fonts with names that might sound like it, such
as Scriptina.
http://desktoppub.about.com/library/fonts/gifs/fcs-scriptina.gif If neither of those are what you want, can you point to a URL that has
a sample of what you're looking for? Or you can post an image at
alt.binaries.crafts.pictures.
As far as something similar, there are thousands of script fonts!
Here's a link to a pdf file of some of the design alphabets available
from Viking:

same link:

Do you have embroidery software, or are you looking for pre-made
DESIGNS in the shape of letters? If you have Viking/Pfaff software's
QuickFont (and wizard) you can create design files from any Truetype
computer font, in just the sizes you need. I THINK that it's also
possible to create pseudo-fonts that are accessible from the basic
Viking/Pfaff embroidery program - the one that has an option for
including text and pre-set shapes into a design.
Many other embroidery programs (such as PEDesign and Artista) have
allowed direct use of computer fonts for a long time. More recent
versions of VIking/Pfaff software might be able to do it as well - I'm
not familiar with the 4D package.

Thank you both. My daughter has the Pristina font, (it's her coffee shop),
but I don't know how to digitise it. I have the original digitising
software for the Rose machine, but never got on well learning to use it, and
had no one to help me learn. I have used only the couple of scripts which
came with the machine.
My problem is being too far from any Husqvarna experts, or even a supplier
now. It's easier to find help from overseas than physically!
I couldn't get either URL to work, but if the font is available ready to
use, I'd like to buy it, at a reasonable price.

There is no software specifically for your sewing machine, although
you may have purchased them together. The software is for your PC;
except for the card reader/writer piece of the program, any software
can be used with any sewing machine (with some exceptions). What
software do you have?

Viking software is among the most unintelligible. You're not alone!

Understandable.

While it might be available somewhere, it might be hard to find. Don't
any of the available alphabets work for you?
I can easily create a set of individual letter designs for you (they
would have to be placed individually. The "fonts" usable in the
embroidery program by typing on the keyboard have a proprietary
internal format and can be obtained only from Viking.
Do you want these individual letters or an entire design? (Full text -
the name of the shop or whatever)
And what size? How high should each of the letters be - designs come
in one size and should only be resized by about 10%. The internal
proprietary fonts can be sized as you create your design.
If you get to alt.binaries.crafts.pictures, the designs can be posted
there for you.
