I just got a new computer and when I went to insert the "dongle" for =
my embroidery software in the parallel port of the computer I saw there =
was no parallel port. Apparently all new computers hook up the printer =
to a USB port.

Is there a cable that has a USB on one end and a female parallel port =
type connector on the other end?

Any help from anyone who encountered the same problem would be =
appreciated.

Yes, there are many parallel-usb converters available.

Yes, you can get a USB to Serial adaptor. I bought a "Belkin" brand for this
purpose, but they are
not cheap. Around $50. You can get cheaper ones, but they may or may not work.
