Your local computer/tech store may have them, too.

Some of those may not work with a software dongle. The page for the middle
device above specifically points that out:

"Please note that this adapter only
works for printers and not other devices (including "All-in-one printers
with scan/fax functions), such as product keys. Consider a true parallel
port for your laptop or PC."

It might be best to check the support people for specific software to see
if their parallel dongle will work with such a device.

Unfortunately I had the same problem....and while some people told me
to install a parallel port, that is unfortunately beyond my scope of
expertise. I tried about 5 different "adapters" none of them worked.
Finally resorted to using a very old lap top *sigh* ....just couldnt
afford the upgrades.

snicklefritz reminded me ... the best option, one that's just about
guaranteed to work, and it's NOT expensive, is to ADD a parallel port
to your computer.

They're available as a separate card, with the connector on the back.
Inserting a card is very easy; you open the computer case, unscrew
(one screw) a cover plate, and insert the card into an obvious slot.
Then replace the screw. That's ALL there is to it.

Herb is right, I had to add a parallel port to my new computer and
it is a great deal cheaper than upgrading the software. Most if not
all adapters will not work.
