Hello! I'm relatively new to machine embroidery, but I have recently become
obsessed with it.

My DGD has also, but I do all the work. She comes up with the ideas. She has
requested a butterfly bed quilt, which I am to make; the designs have
already been chosen. She wishes to have the quilt patches alternate with
filled and redwork designs. Her final request was that I embroider the
redwork with a thread that is thicker so that it will stand out more.

I hesitate to use cotton because it will fade with washing; however, I've
never seen polyester 30 wt. My other thought is to go over each redwork
design twice so that it pops a bit more. Is that feasible?

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions? I'm at a loss as to solve this
one with my little experience.

TIA

Stitchin Duchess

If you can digitize you may be able to load in the redwork and turn the
stitches into a small satin pattern to thicken it.

Try shifting the redwork and restitching in three or four different shift
directions.
