Hello everyone, I am new to your group, and I would like to invite you
to visit my new site. It is vector graphics in a variety of formats
suitable for digitizing. There are many designs and more on the way!
We can create anything custom design you may require also!

So I invite you and your friends to come to www.diddybag.com and help
me get my site underway.

Thanks, and if there is anyway I can help anyone, please let me know.

Are you giving away the vector graphics? If so, welcome. But if you are
selling anything, this is the wrong place since it is a newsgroup-only for
discussion of sewing/embroidery, not sales. Most of us consider sales
advertisements as SPAM here.

Now that is funny. Why don't you also give this same response to the other
companies who are
advertising here?

I personally don't mind seeing ads for new designs, stabilizers, etc. But it
certainly is starting
to look like this is an ads only newsgroup.

I have not seen an FAQ here at all, was there ever one?

I do know that there is not so much discussion these past months. Perhaps we
can allow ads but on
Friday's only (like they do on some yahoo groups). Anyone care to comment on
this?

5 foot 2: The reason I didn't give the same response to the ones you listed
is because they have not shown up on my computer. Perhaps, they had already
been blocked by me earlier.
There is a FAQ, I don't have the site at the moment, but I'm sure it will be
available in a day or so.

Hi everyone,
I am the one who originated this newsgroup years ago. There really has never
been a FAQ, since 'alt' groups are not charter regulated. In that vein,
'alt' groups are like the wild, wild west of newsgroups.
I don't check in very often, since things always seemed to be going along
smoothly.

Many people have embroidery-related things of value to sell, and many people
enjoy hearing about them. I think if people could identify their ads as AD:
in the subject line, it would give people a choice about whether to read
them or not. Non-embroidery related items are not appropriate and would be
considered SPAM.

I believe it would be difficult to try to only have ads posted on certain
days. I'm sure that there would be new posters who would need to be advised
about how best to present their offers (by putting in the "AD:").

I'm not a dictator, so if others feel strongly about another gentle way of
managing this issue, please jump in. We could have a vote too if that is
thought to be more workable.
