Hi all,
I'm ready to purchase my first embroidery machine, and would love some
recommendations.
Husband and I have all ready looked at the Husqvarna, VERY expensive but
really nice. I've seen a few Brothers online and also the Baby Lock. I
like the look of the Baby Lock, the home business pro one, which has 6
colors of thread set up at all times .. but I'm sure it's also very
expensive. And also have seen a few Janomes.
We'd like to spend about between $1,000 - 3,000, preferably on the lower
end. It would be nice if it were also a sewing machine, all though I have
my little Brother that I'm fine with.
I'm interested in digitizing my own artwork, so I'd need the software for
that also. We'll be using this for small business too, so will need a
machine that will stand up to that.
I look forward to all opinions, suggestions, hints and tips about the
brands.
Thanks much!
Dee

I have a janome that I am thrilled with. The 300e is an embroidery only
machine and much less than the "combo" machine that I have. I had a
brother, but it didn't last too long.

hi i have a husqvarna rose which i brought about 5 years ago and have
been very
happy with it , but it only does 4x4 and plus hoop 100x 170
three postion
designs only .......which i feel you tend to grow out
off in time ..
I now
have purchased the janome 300 E which i would very much
recomend for the price
$ 1600. but remember it is embroidery only
machine ....very nice to work with
and being able to do the bigger
designs makes a lot of differents .... to your
project ideas ....
i would say for what you want the janome 300 E and price
is right

I purchased the Janome 300e a little over a year ago. It is extremely
user friendly and does beautiful embroidery. I sell, service and
teach Pfaff machines but found the Janome 300e fit what I wanted
perfectly. If all you want is an embroidery machine and already have
a good sewing machine then is will probably be a perfect choice. As
with all machines you will have a few glitches, primarily the tension
on this model. I do not know what they test these machines with but
everyone I have worked with needed to have the tension adjusted to
avoid loops on the embroidery. Once the proper tension was obtained
the stitch outs were fabulous. I got mine for $900, with Giga Hoop,
and Cloth Setter. There are often deals around that combine
accessories with the machine for one price.
