A good investment is actual thread cards from various brands. Then
when you have a design that has a thread brand you don't have, you can
get out the card and easily do a visual match without having to bother
with conversions and charts. It also helps when you want to buy more
thread because you can see the actual thread colors and hold them up
to the ones you have already.
