Does anyone know much about husqvarna software and which software would
convert vp3 files to pes, is vp3 a new format please as I thought husqvarna
was hus and shv.

I believe vp3 came along with the 3D embroidery packages for Husqvarna
and Pfaff. This format holds much more information that hus. Most newer
software should be able to convert vp3 to pes. 4D Organizer would be the
least expensive Husqvarna software that would handle the conversions.
