Hi!
I have not posted here in quite some time, but I was wondering if anyone
here could give me some input on Amy Mitten Designs.
Specifically, I have been looking at The Garden Plot Thickens, The Dye Lot
and Missing Persons File #1018. This site has all of these pictured:
http://www.wyndhamneedleworks.com/Amy_Mitten_Design/amy_mitten_design_ltd__-_page_.html .
From what I have read on other web sites these particular ones have mystery
stories that go along with them. Also, these are kits that include Amy
Mitten's threads (Fibers to Dye For, I think). I am also interested in her
Montenegrin Pocketbook kit. What gives me pause is the cost of these kits.
So, what I would like to know is: has anyone done (or even seen) any of
these kits? Are they worth the price? Is the mystery story pretty good?
Any other input will be appreciated.
TIA,
BonnieBlue

I had never heard of Amy Mittens before this - those are NEAT. Depending on
the fibers involved (or fabrics), the prices could be quite good or really
expensive. Can you ask your LNS about what is included?

I don't have an LNS anymore <sob, sob>.
Okay, I've found some other web sites with more information about the kits.
The floss included is the designer's own overdyed silk. So, I guess they
probably are worth the money.
I love mysteries and samplers so I'm thinking I really want these! Maybe
Santa will be so kind.
Here are the other two sites I found with more information for anyone else
interested:

Wow, look at how much the price varies. The one I like is $74, $97 and
$110 on the three sites!

I noticed that the different prices too but then I realized that some of the
sites with the designs were in Canada and so the price will be higher than
an US site depending on the exchange rate that day.. love the samplers and
am thinking about suggesting one for a Christmas present..
