DM has macular degeneration and while
the treatments have been successful so
far, when we weren't quite sure they would
work she got herself a Dazor magifying lamp.
She doesn't use the magnifyer currently
but still uses the lamp for "good" light
when reading. She decided she wanted to
find a smaller lamp that would travel so we
could take it to the cottage on vacation where
the lighting is lousy. So while she was
getting her hair done Friday I went over to
Michaels to see what options they might
have in stock. No only did they have the
portable OttLite but all OttLites were 40% off.
(This after I knew the Michaels coupon had
gone outwith the recycles on trash day.)
So after she got her hair done...back to
Michaels and she approved. I also found
a "stitch and zip" eyeglass kit with cute
birdhouses on clearance. A perfect project
for the trip.

The story doesn't end there. DM called a
friend who is always trying for better light to
let her know about OttLites. Get a call last
evening. A friend took her to get her one after
dinner and she loves it.

Now if I can only get some time with it in Maine.

So DM and her friend (in their mid-late 80s)
are ever so grateful I discovered OttLites on
rctn.

I came *this close* to putting an Ott Lite on my charge card tonight. My
Michaels has them 50% (yes--50!) off right now, PLUS I had a coupon for a
special sale they had this evening for another 25% off my total purchase,
including sales items!! That would have made the $270 floor lamp only
$101!! Unfortunately, $101 really just wasn't in my budget, and I'm not
sure the cheaper table versions would work for my stitching layout. I'd
*really* like an Ott light that would clip to my floor stand, but for now,
I'll stick with my incandescent clip on with my true color bulb. It's
better than nothing!
