hi
I am going to Prague for ten days and will have lots of time to shop. I
won't have a car but staying in a hotel in a central location. Anyone know
of any needlework shops?. I cross stitch, do needlepoint, knit and quilt so
open to suggestions.
Any other "must-see" places you can suggest?

thanks
Anne M

Oh, Prague is LOVELY. The whole place is a "must see." The Charles
Bridge and Hradcany, of course. If you have time, Visyrad on the
other side of the river from the Old Town is very interesting. And
the old clock. The old town is a lovely place to just wander around
in. Prague is really my favorite of all the cities I visited in
Europe. Sorry I can't help with needlework suggestions. I wasn't
into that the last time I was there.

I can't recommend any shops, and I really had to hunt for Czech glass
beads, believe it or not, but I did love the city. If you are in the
area of the old town square, be prepared to pay $$ for lunch, but try
the restaurant in the *cellar* of the big glass store. Not so
expensive, good food, neat atmosphere.

The window designed by Alphonse Mucha in the cathedral is the single
most beautiful manmade object I have ever seen. Don't miss it.
