I've been in a knitting mood the last couple days.
I made a scarf for myself in Lion Brand Moonlight Mohair (color:Rain
Forest), which is a blend of earthtones and a strand of metallic.
Also started a scarf for my best friend, which I decided to co-opt for
myself halfway through. Patons Rumors (color: Moonstone Heather). By
the time I was done with the scarf, I was e-mailing LYS to special order
enough for a sweater. Mmmmmmm, the stuff is delightful to work with!
Soft and fluffy, and the colors match so much in my wardrobe.
And, since it's noon and I still have no paying work on my desk for
today, I'm off to knit a hat for Baby Claudia's first birthday. Who
knows where my knitting adventures will go off to after that while I
wait for my clients to get back into work mode after the holiday weekend!

I find knitting very soothing. I have been going through all that
expensive sock wool ( the German stuff that is washer/dryer good, Opal
et al) and knitting up the ends into VERY colourful socks for me. I
have had a few comments and queries as to whether I have a sock
fetish, but what do I care, they are toasty warm.

Socks are so much fun to make. I got some great book with tons of sock
patterns - divided into 3,4,5, or fair isle patterns - and charts so that
you can do them in 4,5 or 2 circular needles. I'm actually doing a pair
of heavier ones for DH as "house" socks now. But, have waiting a few skeins
of lovely washable soft merino or alpaca wool for the next few pairs.

The super has just laid claim to the pair now in production. Send me
