Button Question

A friend of mine recently gave me some vintage buttons from her mother-
in-law. I would like to use them on a sampler. Does anyone know of a
saying about buttons I could use? I did a google search and just got
sayings written on current buttons. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.

I'm looking for something longer (more words) so I can build a sampler
around it. These buttons are really speaking to me to stitch with;
they're just not giving me the words. :-)
