I'm back from Cally-for-nye-A, and finally got my head out from the
suitcase and the washing machine.
Karen and I met up at a small, local, "mittel-european" type restaurant,
with excellent food in a tiny place, only about five or six tables. We
ate lunch, then, to free up the table, went across the street to a
coffee shop for more time, and ended up talking for three hours!!!!!
Karen is a fascinating person with a very interesting background and
lots of stories to tell. I'm hoping she will come here next year,
either for French Quarter Fest or Jazzfest.
I had a wonderful time, and now I know what a cross-stitch angel looks
like in the flesh, as it were. Previously, I had only seen photographs.
I do not know how people have the patience to do all those tiny, tiny
cross stitches according to very precise color change charts. I
couldn't. Give me the freedom of surface embroidery every time.
Next time I go out to see the grandbabies, I shall be sure to block out
even more time with Karen (and maybe I'll get to meet Miss Kitty.

<blush>
I'm hoping to be well enough to travel that far, too, because I've
always wanted to see New Orleans.

I'm jealous! I've been kinda near Karen a couple of times but things
just haven't worked out. Someday.......
Sounds like a wonderful time. It's so nice to meet people that you
"know" so you can *really* know them! :)

And you have a standing invitation to come paint my house, since you
