And she probably didn't pay for it yet either, says Lucille innocently.

OK, OK. Clearly Gill has pointed out to you that I need prompting. So, In
about 10 minutes, I will go back downstairs, and then go further downstairs,
and get all the papers, and then make my way back up the stairs - stopping
for lunch in the middle, and finally send all of you bills.
Got the hint - tee hee.

Nope, didn't discuss it with Gill, but as usual great minds think alike.
Have a great and stimulating lunch.

OK, ladies... I wonder how long we can hold our our breath! LOL. I told
Ellice if I didn't get a number, I would just make a guestimate and send it.
WE leave next Monday for three months, and am trying to get loose ends
caught up.
To add to the chaos, Jim got an ice cream bar out of the freezer
yesterday, and it slid right off the stick onto the floor. We discovered
finally that it seemed as if the compressor was running the freezer, and
trying to cool the frig side as well, with disastrous results. So I
emptied the freezer side into my nice clean chest freezer, put gallon
jugs of ice into the frig side, and this afternoon dropped a grand at
Sears with the PROMISE of delivery tomorrow! The only good thing is that
Jim decided he would leave the new machine running while we were gone,
so I don't have to throw away my frozen homemade chicken broth, or some
of my frozen herbs and peppers.
For the New England gang, we have a reservation at Newfound Lake, NH,
from Aug 10 until Sept 10. I made it, and paid in full, yesterday,
before the 9% tax comes into play tomorrow.

You're so threatening. Progress is I actually have the satchel of papers up
here right next to me. And opened up the notebook I keep this kind of stuff
in - so I can start righting.

Well - glad you didn't lose any broth. It's that time - the truck (Nessie)
has been at the mechanic's since 2 Friday's ago. They didn't really look at
it on the weekend as they were supposed to, then finally found the burned
out pump for the air suspension system, repaired by Tuesday, but something
didn't seem right - and then they had to order new rear air suspension bags
which didn't get there on Thursday - but on Friday, and then they didn't
deal with them til Saturday, and well, then it wasn't all done before they
closed on Sat 'cause the pressure still seemed low and the supervisor who
used to be a Ford Master mechanic said he would call some other guys in the
business, to see what was up and supposedly would have the truck yesterday -
but no, so now I called them at 2:30, they just called back - and after a 30
min conversation which went - abbreviated - "the car is all good, running,
the suspension is holding, er, but, the original bags were "cracked but not
leaking" and didn't need to be changed, and the problem ended up being a
leak at the pump which was there after we replaced the pump which was
completely burned up so if you want us to put the old suspension bags back
we will, or you can keep the new ones at our cost ($125 per). Oh, but we
did notice that the front damping system isn't working - the springs are
good, but the fluid has leaked out over time, and ...... You get the drift.
But, they still have to do the oil change, and the repairs to correct some
stuff that got missed when they had the dash apart 5 months ago are done,
and the a/c recharged, and the tires rotated. But, er, well, there is a bit
more labor because we did the thorough fine tooth comb look after we changed
the bags. ER, ummm.....Yes, I understand that you're frustrated -when I
question that they didn't find the issue with the front suspension when they
diagnosed the system, and repaired the rear (which was leaks in the lines) 5
months ago, and we had it in the day after getting it "fixed" because it
lost air again. As in, due diligence - so to speak. So, ....$1500+ = to
which I reply "have you spoken with D (the manager who will discount stuff
for us)?" Answer - not yet. Me essentially, well, let us know in the
meantime I'll speak with my husband to confirm what to do about the new
suspension bags. Honestly. Of course I wonder at having been told a week
ago that one of the rear bags (those which evidently are still usable but
likely fragile having now been removed, and old) was "split" . Uh huh. So,
I've relayed this conversation to DH - with the details. I'm turning down
the offer of shuttle to go get the car - much more fun to go with DH after
our WW meeting. DH wouldn't even call them - as our prediction is he (the
nice one of us) will be the one more likely to go high order. OTOH, at
least I've gotten to walk home from work several days in the heat - good
exercise. I asked him to call them now - as he's all happy - and he said
"no, 'cause I don't know how long that will last."
I'm about to take a pool of how much this fun will cost - I'm betting $1200.
But, at least Donna can have me do some driving again - with good AC in the
big car (as opposed to the little one).
