Dolphy is beautiful and I'm sure your uncle will love it.
The weather is weird here too. Certainly not like yours, but odd for us.
they expect that it may go down to 30 in the next few days and yesterday I
was out using air conditioning in the car and wearing a T-Shirt and no
jacket.
I should add that having a 32 year old grandson might just mean you really
must accept that you are finally reaching the senior citizen age. It's okay
as long as you don't begin to act that way.

Well that's it here too - they always said "If you don't like the
weather, wait a minute and it will change" ~ but it seems to have gone
extreme now, it changes every twenty seconds !

How in the heck are we sharing weather???? It was sleeting, snowing, ucky
earlier this week. Then lovely for a day - warm in the 50s. Today - we
have about an inch of snow in our yard. And it's grey. Plus, a winter storm
warning that we're supposed to be getting the worst snow of the year this
evening thru tomorrow morning. Delightful.

Well, enjoy yourself, and his birthday. I think this way about the eldest
niece and god-daughter both being 24!

I love this delightful irony. Tomorrow, March 2nd, in Washington DC they
are going to hold a rally to protest government inaction to counter the
(terrible) effects of Global Warming. The weather forecast for the
occasion? Basically blizzard conditions. Jim.

Enjoy that while you can. It's a little blizzard - but for here, definitely
a blizzard. I'll have to keep watch on the news to see if the rally is
delayed. Schools closed, local govts - some closed, most of the federal or
DC courts opening a few hours late. The only school opening - the stupid
community college - opening at noon. Fed Workers and most other local govt
workers on unscheduled leave. And the local DOT is asking folks to stay off
the roads, stay home. The highways were cleared all night, but visibility
is bad, and they showed the clear lanes narrowing. Also, the state police
said they're not responding to any accidents that are just property damage -
only to those with injuries - as there are so many little fender benders
happening - so just move off the road, get the info and move on.
When I went down at 6:45 to let Puckster have his quick morning relief romp
- I found a lovely wall of snow against the breakfast room sliding doors -
about 8" . Fortunately it's quite level across the deck, patio, etc - and
he just jumped out - then stood there thinking for a bit. But, once given
the great command "go run-run, go pee-pee" off he went. Coming back with
snowballs in his furry feet (okay, they need to be trimmed - he's a
spaniel).
In related news ...DH who had been ill last week decided to really get worse
yesterday running 101 fever most of the day, with associated symptoms (all
unpleasant). But, he seemed to be doing a bit better by evening, and I'd
made a fresh batch of chicken soup which he got with matzoh balls and
noodles. Fine. We go upstairs early - around 8, 8:30 as I'm not feeling
great either, and might as well. His temp around 99.5 - yeah. So, when
it's time he is going into the bathroom where the meds are, and I remind him
to taks the Tylenol Nighttime severe cold stuff (as that has a full dose of
tylenol in it). During the day he'd been doing Theraflu - which you brew
and drink, but has a lower dose of Tylenol, so I supplement. He asks which
it is (yup, he went to grad school - can he read the label). I tell him,
again, it's the BLUE stuff (not the red stuff). Comes to bed - took his
medicine, well supplied with juice, water, etc. Hunkers down with the extra
blankets on his side and the fur footwamer. About midnight wakes me - and
I'd just gone to sleep. "Hon, sorry to bother you, but what should I do -
I'm shaking all over" . Yup, he is - fever gone up abit - to 103 - not
much to do - pile blankets, do some warm compresses, and I hold him to help.

The worst fever shakes - lasted >30 min. Really shivering, and I have to
convince him not to make it worse. I give him some Tylenol PM also.
Finally he goes to sleep, then a bit later wakes in the "I'm too hot sweat
cycle" - which lasts about 20 min. Like having a sickly little kid, poor
thing - change all the pjs, etc. This morning, he's sleeping, I go deal
with the dog, etc and come back upstairs to bring him juice, take the temp,
give him morning meds. What do I see - on his counter instead of the
Tylenol Night, a bottle of Robitussin cough/cold that has NO Tylenol in it,
as in no anti-pyretic. No wonder his fever went up once the prior dose wore
off. So, while taking his morning temp (normal -yeah) I said "ummm, well, I
know why your fever went up- etc" His response - "oh, well, I guess I took
the red stuff instead of the blue". Oh, well. I'm thanking Donna's husband
for giving this to her, and me passing it to DH - though no doubt I'll get
it soon.
Still snowing steadily here. Woo hoo.
