You poor thing. I'm so sorry - it was stifling and wet.

Last year we had that happen, and about 5 years ago in the old house - same
thing - transformer out. That time, we just went swimming, and then went
down into the basement and slept on the old sofa - tight, but cool. Last
year - we figured the basement trick worked - so went down there with sheets
and slept on the sectional - where I usually stitch. I'm sorry.

Glad you got it back during the night. It was gorgeous today. We decided to
go downtown - there is a really nice, albeit small, exhibit on Abraham
Lincoln at the National Portrait Gallery.
http://www.npg.si.edu/exhibit/lincoln/audio.html
I'd seen some info about this on PBS, and wanted to go - so we went. Very
full of tourists on the mall, not too bad up at the Portrait Gallery (which
shares a building - formerly the Patent Office) with National Gallery of
American Art. As this is the bicentennial of his birth, there is a lot of
Lincoln stuff happening or on display around town - for those of you that
may be interested.
Also, we saw a really interesting modern art installation called "Common
Threads" - DH thought I'd tricked him into a stitching thing, but it's not.
However, a very intriguing exhibit. Anyhow, we did get to do some nice
walking around in the good weather.

That real dark - it's actually pretty dark here in Loudoun - especially
compared with being in Falls Church. I didn't stitch either, as I'm a bad
girl - and DH has reminded me to get back with my schedule and list. The
car is still in the shop - evidently the pump which was replaced on Wed may
be defective, and they didn't get that figured out til late in the
afternoon, so will have to get one on Monday (hopefully). So, tomorrow DH
can drop me at work at 6:30, but then I'll have to hike it home after noon,
as he's got softball at 12. Never ends.
Hope your house is nice and cool today.

I find if I make a list of 'To Do' things - they actually get done -
it feels great to check off each thing as you complete it. Couldn't
live without my list. :-)

Even if I don't put it on paper.....I usually have a mental list.
I've got all sorts of lists in my desk...how many plants for
along the back wall, books people have recommended
(that one's on upteen scraps of paper)

I was listening to NPR one day and they had this guy on who was
talking about his ADD tendencies.
I forget exactly who he was.
But he said that his to-do list actually starts with turn off alarm
clock. Get out of bed. Go to bathroom. Etc. It didn't used to be like
this. He used to have the normal to-do list that only included the
"important" things. And many of them never got done. But then he hit
on this system.
He said at the end of a day, when he looks at his list, and he
accomplishes nearly everything everyday and feels terrific about
himself.
Just a thought...
