Our local weekly newspaper carried an article about a craft show which
was organised by Jeanne Bouza Rose who is based in New York but flew
over for to Orkney for a few days. Two elderly ladies - Greta Craigie &
Mary Sinclair - displayed their handiwork. Greta recycles things; a 3D
floral image made from yoghurt pots, an owl made from an old feather
hat, another owl made from sequins and a model of a Viking ship with
Vikings whose armour consisted of painted bubblewrap. Mary began
knitting & sewing at the age of 6 and showed patchwork quilt,
embroidered pictures, toys, cloths & outfits for dolls. We couldn't get
to see the show but the photographs were stunning
