Nothing sucks more than waking up in the morning and your yard is
flooded because there's a tiny hole in the bottom of your well tank and
all 220 gallons of water are spraying into your yard.
No wait, it definitely sucks more when you realize you can't take a
shower or use the toilet....ugh.
Well, it could suck more because you call the well repair guy and find
out the tank can't be patched and needs to be replaced instead.
And it sucks again when you remember you just paid him a few $100 two
weeks ago to replace a switch and a valve on the very same tank.
And then it really sucks more when you find out the new tank goes for
about $1500. But then - it sucks less when you find out full retail for
the same tank is $1800.
And then it sucks again when you see 2 big trucks and 4 guys show up to
replace it and you realize the $1500 you were quoted was only for parts,
not labor....that sucks a lot!
And then it sucks less because you are able to remove the lattice panels
from around the well (because you planned for this eventuality) and you
can trim your plants enough and guide the trucks over your front lawn,
missing your sprinklers and the top of the septic tank and juuussst
squeeze in past the propane tank and have room to back up to the fence -
so you don't have to take your backyard fence down for the boom to be
able to lift the old and new tanks out of your yard.
And then it sucks a bit less because an hour and a half later YOU HAVE
WATER and it is wonderful !!!
And then it sucks much much less when you find out the total labor cost
for 4 guys for an hour and half is only $185! but .... then it sucks
again when you have to write a check for $1800 because they don't take
credit cards................sigh
But then, you put your checkbook away and go take a really nice long
shower and the water feels just marvelous!!!!

Hugs to Melissa for suffering through a terrible, horrible, no good,
very bad day. If it didn't end with a hot shower, this would be a
complete disaster.

So true - but glad that Melissa got her shower. I feel the parallel to our
car woes of the past couple of weeks - with the little leak ending up as the
$1800 repair. But, hey - the little car is running just fabulously now
(even if I did scare Donna tooling around town in it yesterday - but, hey,
it has airbags all over the place).
Hope you get some happy stitching done now, Melissa.

Thanks for the hugs - they are appreciated!!
LOL - I sympathize with the car situation too - they always seem to need
more than we think at first. I believe all the necessary appliances
talk to each other and conspire against us and our bank accounts!
Not much stitching lately - but I have 11 yards of fabric sitting here
as I told my sister I would make curtains for her bedroom....now if I
could only get enough courage to make the first cut!

Well done, Melissa - at least you didn`t lose your sense of humour - and
THAT`S what`s beyond price!
