Here's a copy of the message I received. It was from a group called "A
Sampler Life," not the one I mentioned previously.

I know we are all in shock at this point. As we learn more about
arrangements, etc we will keep the group posted. NEXT

Marc would not want us to stop bingo - he would want the group to remember
him as the person who started the group which became a another family. A
very large family.

The group began Marc contacted several friends, including me, and we
discussed the things we wanted in a new group. He started the group with
this little group of friends and shortly after he made me a owner. We all
started posting on the groups we belonged to and word of mouth spread. WE
never imagined that it would get this large. Towards the end you all knew
he didn't know why people were not posting or playing the games. That was
Marc. He wanted the group to discuss all things and be an active list. (The
messages are coming through now - he would be so pleased)

So with that said - We will continue the bingo game and award the prizes and
continue with a strong group of friends, etc in Marc's memory. Ina and I are
both here as owners and have the most wonderful group of admins.

SO -- Anniversary Bingo 2009 - continues in "Memory of our beloved Marc"

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire group, George (his partner),
Lennez (his sister and family), his two adopted sons and everyone that knew
him. He will be greatly missed by all and I know the loss of this friend
will leave a void in my life.

Kat

Lots of discussion on The Sampler Life, where he has been very active, and a
"list-mom"

Very true, Marc was a witty and great guy. There is much discussion going
on at the Yahoo Group he was a co-founder of.

My remembrance of Marc, years ago, on this group, he and I had a big chat
about overdyed/hand-painted silks. Marc convinced me (I think part of this
was private correspondence) to try the Gloriana silks, and I sent him some
other stuff. I did indeed go and buy some Gloriana - and IIRC, I think it
was on an outing to Stitching Pretty in Laurel. Where I met up with Sue H.
for the first time. And bought some Gloriana to use for a big Just Nan
sampler (instead of a ton of solid silks).

Marc was just then starting designing, or thinking about it - at that time
he was immersed in sample stitching for Silver Lining and someone else.

So, the coincidence - yesterday at the last Thursday gathering in the LNS
where Donna & I hang - we actually were talking about Marc with some newer
group memebers. They were looking at some Dimples designs, and Silver
Lining, and getting the 2 Marc's confused, and Terrence Nolan. Then, I had
decided to change this original piece I'm doing for MTP, and was drawn to
some Gloriana silks. The shop has very little Gloriana - never carried a
lot, and I hadn't seen this particular small ring. I'd picked some Mandarin
floss as well, and both Donna & I thought - nope, use the Gloriana. There
were only 3 colors on the ring, 2 of them perfect, and the 3rd a maybe - but
I grabbed it anyway. Everytime I grab some Gloriana, I think about Marc
convincing me to try it. So coincidental kind of in timing. I think I'll
put a little dedication on this design for Marc - and my thread choices.
