Well, wish me luck - I finally decided to try for the Master Craftsman
in Silk and Metal Embroidery. There were several terms mentioned I
did not recognize, so we'll see how it goes. Luckily I have plenty of
time to get each submission in. It looks to be a good challenge, so
I'm looking forward to this one. I figured I ought to go for it when
I realized I was looking at a class for a chinese dragon in metal
threads and thinking "I can do that, it looks like fun". Good hint,
huh?

I have just gotten to test # 5 (of 6) in the Canvas Embroidery Master
Craftsman program. So far, my only issues have been very minor. I
started it as proof that I could do the work, and, I have to admit,
this one has been fairly easy for me. Just time consuming. I've been
debating if I even want to finish it, but I will. Just to say I did,
I guess.

Well I do wish you luck. I looked up metal embroidery since I am not sure if
I ever heard of it.
Do you have a picture or more info?

It's also called Goldwork Embroidery. A multitude of responses come
up when you Google that phrase. If you think of the gold embroideries
seen on the robes of the Pope and Queen Elizabeth - that's goldwork.

Cpngrats on deciding to go for it, Fran. Are you doing it thru EGA? Should
be quite a journey.

Good for you. Keep up all that great work.

Congratulations on your continuing success in Canvas Embroidery and in
your choice for the next mastery. If anyone is interested in the
surface embroidery program, they can view some of the passed results
here: http://www.heritageshoppe.com/gallery Admittedly some of the
pics are less than ideal and come a bit wrinkled, but you can still see
the skill that goes in them. These are wonderful programs through EGA.
Really stretch your skills.

Best wishes, Fran!

Dianne
