I haven't even started looking yet, but does anyone know off the top of
their head about a chart that I could make up reasonably quickly that
would be appropriate as a memorial for a lost son/brother? The story
can be found by doing a Meta Crawler (or search engine of choice)
search for Jonathan Marshall Thibeault, but the short form is: Three
local18 year old boys who had graduated from high school just 9 days
before were killed when the car they were in hit a tree sending the car
into the river where they were supposed to have gone swimming Monday
night. The first ones on the scene were another 18 year old friend and
a 16 year old who's family owned the property where they were going to
meety & swim. Fortunately, in a way, the boys were killed by the
impact with the tree so that they did not drown from the car landing
upside down in the river. The boys who found them immediately after
the crash were unable to release the driver & were unable to get any
other doors open at all. I can't even imagine the added stress they
would be under if they had to worry about what they possibly could have
done to save their friends. There is lots of "why them & not me" going
on & a good portion of the community is mourning the loss of the three
boys. I hadn't seen Jonathan since the family moved into town about 4
years ago, but there is an older brother as well as two younger ones
who must be about 12 & 15 or so. It was always a pleasure to have the
family in the library since they actually liked each other. They
weren't perfect and there was a normal amount of sibling squabling, but
it was never mean spirited and the boys always knew when to quit.
I would like to stitch something reasonably quick & simple for them all
to remember him by, without being too maudlin. Any ideas?

Oh dear, how very dreadful. It seems to happen so often around
graduation tme, young lives senselessly cut off. I'm sorry, I don't
have any suggestions, but you and the family do have my thoughts and
prayers.

Herrschners had one available as both a CCS and printed XS that worked
up fairly quickly. Something about when the person you love becomes a
memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
