Here in Canada, they are carried at Chapters/Indigo (where I work) and in
Regina several independent newsstands carry them as well. So I am lucky and
don't need to subscribe to get them--although I have to ration how many I
buy. At the moment, I like Cross Stitcher, for its mix of contemporary and
traditional, and have always liked Classic Stitches, because it includes
various forms of needlework in each issue.

I love "Classic Stitches" but can't find it regularly. I love "Stitch" from
the Royal Guild, but only pick it up when I spot 3 or more things I want to
do or learn more about.
I've just requested my library start getting Pieceworks - I know they have a
magazine grant from a private donor right now. So maybe it will come.

Cross-stitch Gold from the UK and there is an Australian magazine
called Embroidery and Cross-stitch. They are just gorgeous. Lots of
beautiful novel ways of finishing designs as well.

Living in a place where a needlework store is very far from local, I
really appreciate posts like Dyan's. I don't read the marketplace
group, as I know I would never be able to afford to buy anything there,
so this group is the only place I see new designs, whether by Dyan's
posts, or those of people who give links to designs.
We have definitely lost a great deal of pleasure in this group, and like
Dianne, I believe it's because of the constant carping - and no, I can't
give instances, I don't hold on to unpleasant things.
Like some others, I rarely post, because the unpleasant ones make me
feel I have nothing to say that would counteract them. So I say nothing.
