You must take care of the feet. Otherwise it's a huge price to pay in
pain.
For Mothers Day I got to go and buy a large Gel Pro mat for the
kitchen. So soft and cushy. I can stand at my kitchen counter again
barefoot.

Office Depot. That's where I got mine, anyway. Three of them,
forming an "L" between the sink and the stove.

I keep an old pair of running shoes in the trunk - they may look like
the devil, but if you ever break down and have to walk any distance,
you'll be glad to don 'em.
Many years ago, I and my date had to walk about a mile (me in 4 inch
heels) to get automotive help. It was 6 degrees out, so barefoot was
out of the question. I never forgot it.
