Sadly, Jim,
That is what is being discovered here in the electoral rolls. There are
people registered many times over by a group ( or maybe more than one
group, but thinkin of ACORN), and that will slant the election for the
people who "sign them up".I suspect, but don't know, that a reward may
be involved.
One vote, one person seems to be going by the wayside in the USA. Sad,
isn't it??

I dunno, Gillian, when I was a poll worker in Florida we had to have a
positive I.D. on everyone who wanted to vote. We were prety strict
about it, too, in Hillsborough County.

We do have to show a drivers license here in Florida, too.I suspect that
any picture ID works. If I remember correctly, when I was a poll worker
in Maryland, voters didn't have to do that.
There are some states where ID isn't necessary. I think I remember
reading recently of a brouhaha in one state, which wanted to introduce
picture IDs to avoid voting fraud, and those against said it was unfair
to make people who didn't have them go out and get them.
