Just for the heck of it, let me tell you the tale of woe about my crum-bum
week.

First I discovered that the headlight on the passenger side of my car is
missing the plastic cover. Whether it just fell off, or someone needed the
part (it's a 98 model) who knows, but it's going to cost over $100 to
replace, and that's a bargain price.

Second, one of my important items around the house isn't working correctly
and giving me a big headache.

Then the topper. I head a crunch when I went out of the garage this morning
and didn't pay attention. When I came home I saw a black ring on the floor.
Idiot that I am I picked it up to see what it was and immediately got grease
all over my hands and the front of my pants. If that wasn't enough
aggravation I noticed that it was one of the rollers that go into the track
of the door. I called the repair people only to find out that because of
the rotten economy they had to let a couple of their repair people go and
one is on vacation next week and the other is swamped with business so they
can't come until next Friday. The suggestion was that if possible I don't
use the door at all so it doesn't get twisted if it comes off the track
completely. Now I have to leave the car with the uncovered headlamp out in
the storm Florida weather.

Damned house!!!

Ah, yes. The joy of homeownership.

My ex really wanted to take the house in the divorce until I started
citing the thousands of dollars of repairs that needed to be made
urgently, i.e., the next year of apartment living will cost you a mere
fraction of what the next year in the house will cost me. Suddenly, it
was not the prize he thought it was.

Would it be possible to find one at a junk/salvage yard? Oftentimes
you can get car parts there fairly cheaply. Or used to be able
to...not sure about these days! Anyway, it's something to check on.

I'm not sure whether you're going to believe this but I am getting it from a
junk/salvage yard. The car part place originally told me $165 but felt
sorry for me when I got my poor me look and called a salvage place.

As with most things for cars nowadays, you have to buy the whole headlight.
They said a dealership might have just the one side that's missing but then
they would charge triple the price and I wouldn't accomplish anything.

Thanks for the hugs
