Hello,
I'm thinking by now you have had the cateracts removed from
both eyes and I'm wondering how you are and how it went.
Thanks,
mag

Yes I did and it is a huge success. The op is nothing to worry about,
inconvenience and a nuisance having to be religious in the application
of the drops for four weeks but painful, no.
I carry a pair of drug store readers but the print has to be really
small/tiny for me to need them. I have seen my own doctor since then
and she was totally pleased with the job he did. I discussed it first
with him and explained to me it was a necessity to be able to focus my
cameras and be able to do close work. I said I would rather wear
glasses for distance if need be.
I was wearing contacts for 35 years and latterly my own doc tried the
type where you have different strengths for both eyes, one for
distance and one for near. Some people apparently can't get along
with that but no problem for me. So the surgeon basically mimicked
that technique. If I close my right eye, I can't read the computer
but can see out the window well. If I close my left eye I can read
the computer but it's blurry green outside the window, together, with
both eyes open, voila !
If I hold the magnifying mirror close I can actually see the lenses
lying just under the surface. Miracle operation ! I was kind of
disappointed when the first was done, but the second made all the
difference.
I also notice the difference in light level. In here I thought the
CFL bulbs were bummers but it turns out it was me lol Now, if they
would just call me in for that knee replacement, I would be good as
new and twice as much trouble lol

Thank you!!!!! I am weighing the option of having both
eyes different and your input is most helpful!!

Perhaps get them to let you try with contacts so you know if it works
for you. Do let us know when you get yours done.

That's a good recommendation from Sheena, as I am one who doesn't like
the "monovision" contacts. My brain just can't seem to adjust for
them....they drive me nuts!
