Hi Y'all,
I know the laws are different in each area but what are they like where you
live with respect to the following?
My DW cooked up this left-over turkey concoction in her favorite cauldron.
Before eating any I tossed a few morsels to our new puppy who devoured them
like a starving shark. He didn't seem to be any worse for the tidbit so diet
or no diet I proceeded to down the portion that my DW had allocated to me. I
might add that the puppy is neither fat nor starving.
My question is as follows, "Can using a puppy as a food tester be considered
inhumane (cruelty to animals) and subject to the pains and aggrevation of
the law??"

I think you should take recourse in the defence of necessity, which is valid
in Canadian Criminal Law. Necessity excuses an otherwise unlawful act when
the performance of that act was necessary to preserve life or prevent
serious immediate harm to oneself or another. You must simply explain to
the Keeper of the Cauldron that it was necessary to use the pup in order to
prevent harm to yourself.
Then, of course, as we so often do around here, Run, Duck and Hide.

I spotted a pretty nice looking taste tester the other day but my DW advised
me that the taste tester that I was looking at neither cooked, washed
clothes, did housework or shoveled up after a dog. My DW also said something
about said taste tester being high maintenance what ever that means. Looks
like I'm stuck (and happy) with what I got. LOL
