My very reliable but out dated and no longer supported newsreader seems
to have bit the dust. Recommendations for non-M$ free products are
hereby solicited.

I've been using Thunderbird, from Mozilla (providers of Firefox, a
non-M$ web browser)

Thank goodness, my stashaholic tendencies are system-wide and not just reserved

for stitching <g> After a de-install and a reinstall, everything is working for
now <knock on wood [0uch!!]
After an admittedly brief testing period, seamonkey and thunderbird appear to
be indistinguishable in their newsgroup handling which isn't surprising since
they have common roots. Once I'm sure things are stable, seamonkey will be
removed (firefox is my browser of choice) but I'll keep thunderbird around as a
back up.

I've been using Thunderbird for several years now. Much superior to the
Micro$oft product.
