I have been posting freebie updates in this newsgroup because several
members in this group have requested I do so. I have now been accused of
spamming in this newsgroup, and I am extremely sorry if that is the way you
have viewed my postings.

Effective immediate, I will not be posting anything for my website to this
or any other newsgroup. I was trying to build up visitors to the site to
eventually benefit the Angel Quilt Project in getting more volunteers. I had
to pay for a subscription to access your newsgroup because AOL no longer
provides access to newsgroups. I will cancel my subscription immediately. I
hope I have not imposed on any of you, and again I am sorry.

Jaenne

Aw, that's too bad. I personally don't think offering to give away free
stuff is spamming and I enjoyed looking at the designs.

I hope you reconsider.

That's a shame, Jaenne. I've enjoyed looking at your patterns. Have not
downloaded as yet but i imagine I will at some point.

I'll bookmark your site for sure. Spam to me is the unending crud that
comes into my email box - usenet newsgroups are fair game for these sorts of
things and especially since you are offering free downloads (regardless of
the fact that you ask for donations) i have a hard time categorizing that as
spam. On my other hobby group people post sales and auctions of pens and
inks all the time. It's expected.

oh well. :(

take care and best wishes.

I, for one, am very annoyed with whoever told you that you were
spamming. I hope you will reconsider, and I hope whoever wrote to you
will own up so we know who the b*st*rd was. I am afraid there are a lot
of rctners who somehow think that any vague hint of advertizing must be
absolutely condemned. Nobody to my knowledge, has ever been able to make
a clear distinction between passing useful information and advertizing or
spamming or whatever. As I have suggested many times in the past; if you
see a post you dont like, please ignore it and pass to the next message.
There are lots of other people who enjoy these sorts of posts.
So whoever accused Jaenne, please 'fess up so we know who you are.
And I suggest Jaenne, that if no-one 'fesses up, which I am sure is what
will happen, you continue posting. HTH.

Why should that person 'fess up? Are you going to spank them? Surely
people are allowed to both hold and express different opinions than yours?
