I actually did some stitching tonight although that was not the plan.
Husband and child are gone for a long weekend so good time to get a lot
of projects tackled. Stripped and washed all the beds including
pillows, comforters, and quilts. Those are all made up again except for
the two biggest pillows which are still drying.
Then decided to hang some more curtains. We've lived here 3-1/2 years
now and still had curtains we brought over from the old house that
weren't up. So I pulled out the handy-dandy cordless drill and slap in
the batteries ... nothing happens. Hm, some idiot man unplugged the
charger. Called him and he said, "It was warm so I thought it should be
unplugged." D'oh! So I plugged it in and put the batteries back on it
and left it overnight. Got up and tried again this morning and still no
juice. Go over to Home Depot. The new cordless tools by that
manufacturer use a completely different type of battery so they only
sell the old ones online. Sigh. Pick up some little screws I need to
hang the latch hook projects stitched last year. Walk by the Dremel
stuff and remember Dad gave me a Dremel set for Christmas. Go home and
use Dremel to make pilot holes to hang curtain rods. Slick! Guest
bedroom done, no problem. Start threading the valance on to the rod for
the laundry room--problem! The stitching is out of most of the rod
pocket because man snagged it when taking it down from the old house and
pulled the stitching out of about 4' of it. Sigh. It is now very
neatly backstitched and hanging in the laundry.
Bought new curtains and rod for the master bedroom. Washed the curtains
today (to get rid of that nasty smell and the fold marks) and they look
great. If I can get those up tomorrow and get the freezer defrosted, I
guess I'll have done well for my weekend. I need a vacation from my
vacation. Or at least a nap.
