(Written at 9 AM, but I can't get online to send it! The static on the
phone line is so dreadful I could barely hear Mom, so no wonder AOL
can't "hear" through it to connect!)
We are having heavy rain with winds gusting up to 66 MPH. Part of the
neighbor's tree is on my roof. For now, I still have electricity (knock
wood).
For as long as the lights stay on, I will be stitching on Sesame Street.
When they go out, I'll switch to knitting.
Up top of the Sierras, they have an avalanche warning.
They're telling us not to go out unless absolutely necessary.
Fortunately, I work from home and I've stocked up on groceries, so it's
not likely I'll come up with any sort of "absolutely necessary".

Bad weather here too. Gale F8 to severe gale F9 winds, rain and
near-freezing temperatures - no snow though. All ferries & flights
cancelled. And we've run out of heating oil. Fortunately we've got a
couple of portable gas heaters and plenty of gas cylinders as well as
electric fan heaters. Surrey, our cat, loves the gas heaters and
luxuriates in front of them bathing in the radiant heat. Maureen is sat
in her "pig pen", legs wrapped in a blanket, doing some blackwork and
I'm doing a bit of website maintenance. Let's hope the power doesn't go
down, it's not been too bad these last few months even in the really bad
winds.

Here in NS, and also in the Winter Witches part of NB, we are having a
day of respite, if you don't count the well below zero temperatures,
but I can like that in comparison to snow lol

But is the neighbor's cat in it? <G>
The weather-guesser is promising us 10" of rain by Sunday which is 3" more
than we received all last year! Watch the news, it could get ugly.

Yes, I'm in charge of keeping Mom updated on what's happening in your
area so she doesn't have to keep calling my aunt.
At this point, wherever you're going, you can't get there from here.
Bridge is closed. Freeway is closed. Airport is closed. Even the
trolley is shut down.
Sunny, warm California my foot!
