Along with the lap frame I bought at the rummage sale, there was a paper
of needles of a type I have not seen before. They are very heavy, 3.5
inches long and about the weight of a size 18 tapestry needle, with
sharp points and with an eye which looks like a narrowed (or squished)
letter G.
Anyone know what these are?

No, they are not the spiral eyed ones which were noted the other day.
The top of the eye is only slightly curved downwards, there is a slot
about 1/8" deep, then the lower portion of the eye has a decided inwards
hook at the top. Obviously, it is something similar to the spiral eye,
but not identical.
Anyone else have any ideas?

Maybe doll maker needles or upholstery needles. Another thought is
sailmakers needles
