You do know that HFCS is also a form of sugar? Soda wasn't made with white
refined table syrup. Oh, yes - for a year when an undergrad I worked in the
Industrial Engineering HQ of Pepsico - and one of my main projects during
that time was doing research on the use of HFCS, as even then there were
some of the sodas being made with HFCS at various bottling plants.
Different formulations for mixing the sodas are used depending on which type
of sugar is actually used (multiple types and forms are possible). It was
pretty interesting. Mostly I did production efficiency studies for the
plants in the central US to East Coast. And this special study. My boss
was the chief of Industrial Engineering, his boss the Sr VP of Ops. Plenty
of soda to be had at work. Trunks of cars searched when you left. And, as
a holdover from spending time in many bottling plants, I still rarely drink
soda.

Wouldn't surprise me at all -- you're more than likely correct! WE
should go back to drinking water and stuff like iced tea or regular soft
drinks in moderation. Unfortunately for MOI, Pepsi is my caffeine drink
of choice and I drink enough of it that I have gotten used to the diet.
I'll have to try the stuff that is made with the stuff like Splenda --
it's supposed to taste about the same and not have all the chemical crap

Is that Stevia (think that's the name) made from some root ? I am
told it is overly sweet to the taste, don't know about Pepsi.
Have to admit Pepsi was the only nourishment I was taking when I came
out of hospital, just couldn't fancy any food, but it was regular
Pepsi. I have nicely dropped probably about 5kg so I am not unhappy
lol

I think Stevia is not related to splenda at all. I've had stevia in the
house - very sweet stuff and it made awesome lemonade. But won't be buying
more.. I'm trying to limit the sweet and Stevia still has calories.

Isn't Splenda just another derivative of aspartame though ??
