I received Hand-Stitched Boxes by Meg Evans in yesterdays mail.
Cheryl Isaak had mentioned it to me, and I am glad she did. It is a
marvelous book. Lots of beautiful illustrations and project ideas.
I'd always wondered how those were constructed, thinking I needed to
save small lidded boxes to create these, but now I see you build your
own.

...something to keep my mind off of our smashed car.

Deb :-)

I'm so glad to have enabled you. A little plastic canvas, floss and fabric
and you're off to the races...

Happy, a simple one to start shouldn't cost the earth! plastic canvas isn't
dear and a fat quarter is pretty cheap....

Floss you have...

Hi, Deb -

That looks delicious. I've made several boxes and they're easy and
inexpensive, but make VERY impressive gifts! I got this instruction book
from Nordic Needle, which gives excellent step-by-step directions and
might be an additional source of inspiration:

(The Box - a simple little finishing instruction book, by Judy Odell)
