Has anyone ever tried Alpaca batting ?

I have seen some advertised but haven't heard any personal reviews.

Bonnie it wan't any really any dearer than any other batting.

DM made a knitted vest and cardigan from alpaca for DH a number of years ago
and he loved the lightness and warmth of the yarn.

I would imagine that it would drape really well.

We have an Alpaca outlet near us - sweaters, socks, jackets, etc. not
batting - and the owner always stresses that Alpaca is not wool and that
people allergic to wool will be ok with alpaca. Can't vouch for it as
I'm not allergic to wool although I do find some a bit scratchy. I have
an alpaca jacket and its sooo soft. When I bought it it was going to be
for 'best' but I like it so much that 'best' = often!
