Chico's is the fashion designer of vampires
why did you expect anything else

"I forge my professional relationship on it. I treat it with the passion

That's the rule. Don't let it breathe in your face. "--The Poet, Michael

LOL ... I had friends recommending Chico's all the time, so I finally
stopped in there one day. You are so right! Black or BDU (battle dress
uniform) colors. : P All of those make me look dead. I like bright jewel
colors and except for red (AHA! blood!), they just didn't have it ... I
haven't been back since.

I fancy bright colors in everything also.
I really learned to hate Chico's when I had this supervisor who insisted on
dressing a lunatic. One day she came into work wearing bumblebee barettes,
and yellow honeycomb knitted vest over a black top, a black and yellow
skirt, and wedge sandals with bumblebees on them. I don't know whether she
bought the outfit or any part of it at Chico's. That's not color. That's
something else: she was an executive and somehow she reminded more of a
second grader than a boss on that day. Maybe she was just trying to
prentend she was a busy bee.
Thus I worked hard to avoid anything she endorsed.
In the meantime, neat find: Although it is not on display, the American
Museum of Art in DC has a 48 state quilt in archive at the Smithsonian.
Maybe one day they will lay it out for folks to see.

Oh my gosh - I have to respectfully disagree with some of your conclusions
about Chico's - my most favorite clothing store on the planet! I love
bright colors & Chico's has plenty of bright colors. I doubt that you would
ever see any "bumble-bee" themed items at Chico's. I think their clothes
are stylish, without being over the top. They are current, without being
trendy. I suppose their selection could be different in California than it
is in the rest of the country. Sometimes their tops are a little too
Miami-ish (too colorful & too much gold) for my tastes, but I try to
remember that they don't just design their clothes for my taste:) They also
carry tall length in pants (on-line only), & that is a great thing for me at
almost 6' tall. I have to tell you that I get more compliments on my
Chico's clothes than anything else I wear. Give them another try - it's
worth it. And they have awesome sales! There is one going on right now.
And if you live anywhere near a Chico's outlet - you practically feel like
you are stealing the clothes.
www.chicos.com NAYY Just a very happy customer:)
