Hi Everyone,
I had to return home earlier than I had planned...Medicaid issues for
my DH. I traveled to Minnesota by minivan to see my DD. He is on his
third session of rounds of Chemo for lung cancer...
While we were there we visited the Mall Of America, Cabelas, and mom
and I spent a Saturday shopping at the local quilt shops in
Alexandria. We had a great time.

I have been very busy trying to get back into the swing of things. I
have been cleaning off my dining room table that has two months of
vacation stuff on it. And I've decided I need to clean out/up my
house.

I have some sewing to do, a quilt to finish quilting, and yard work
that needs to get done....when it stops raining.

I am stripping a side table and refinishing it. It is a table that
has a top table and then about three inches another table connected by
fancy "walls" on two of the sides. They don't come apart.
I've been thinking about how I'm going to strip between the two
tables...very carefully, I'm thinking. <G> I've got several pieces
of furniture to refinish and started with the most complex and
smallest piece!

Hi Launie..

Sorry you had to return early but glad you had a good visit. We sure
enjoyed the dinner with you on your drive east.

Hi Mary,
It was great visiting with you and you husband on our way to
Minnesota. I wish we had arrived early enough to have dinner again,
but we arrived around nine p.m. If you guys are ever in this area,
give me a yell.

Hi All, This is the first time I have posted on RCTQ but have been
lurking for about 3 years. I have not come forward before because
you all are so far advanced in your quilting than I am.
I read Launie's post and "out I come" because I live 3 miles from Mall
of America. It is an enormous place to shop and not ONE quilt
shop....LOL
There are a few quilt shops in our little neighborhoods. Also JoAnn's
and Hancock's not too far away.

I am DD. I started quilting about 12 years ago when my youngest DD
had twin boys. A quilting group took me in (down in FL) and taught me
how to strip quilt two matching but opposite color baby quilts for the
boys. I have made wall hangings....I love to hand quilt....for both
DD's and myself. I have made a twin quilt for one other grandson and
one grandaughter. Now another boy is going into a "bib boy bed" and
have started collecting fabric for his twin quilt.
I have a few UFQ around here. I really like the piecing vs quilting
it.
I am in awe of you ladies and men that can post the pictures of their
quiltls. I do not have any way to post pictures because we don't have
a camera that works like that. I am pretty computer/electronic
dense, so don't think any of my projects will be put up on this or any
board.

Welcome aboard, DeeDee. I'm also a Minnesotan; I live in Rochester. I
don't get to MOA very often -- I'm not big on shopping, especially if
there's no fabric involved. My daughter & I do the Race for the Cure
every May, so I do make a trip to the Mall then, though I let her drive,
as she lives in Burnsville and shops there often.

You can have your photos put on a CD when you have them developed and
then you can upload them to Webshots or a similar site fairly easily. If
you're ever in the market for a new camera, some of the digitals are
really simple and make it real easy to upload photos. Meanwhile, I guess
we'll just wait to meet you in person and see your photos and maybe even
a quilt or two.
