Hi, everybody! Been reading when I could but finally got the chance to read
AND post - be still my heart. Prayers said when needed and happy dances
done as well. You were all in my thoughts and prayers whether you needed it
to not.

Just to catch up in a nutshell:

One of my reports at work took another job and I have been doing double duty
to keep pace - either staying late or working when I got home.
I'm back on WW and have meetings on Friday after work; Jazzercise on Tues
and Thurs after work. Down 15 pounds so far.
Spending as much time with my grandson as I can to let his mom rest. She's
due in 46 days but is high risk with this one so is on bed rest as much as
possible. It's 50/50 as to whether she'll need a C-section this time which
will mean a longer recovery period.
I did finish one quilt while on vacation and have totally revamped my
quilting/computer room. Projects prioritized. New grand baby has 4 on the
top of the list.
Doctor says she will be a teeny-tiny, somewhere between 5 and 6 pounds.
She'll be in the cradle for a while and my DD wants crib sized quilts for
her. I am crocheting two blankets for her - one for her coming-home
ensemble which is light weight since she will be an August baby. The other
is a bit heavier for the winter months. It's also easier to crochet or knit
when my grandson is here.
Also planning a trip to Florida to see Mom and other grand daughter, but
will have to wait until the baby comes and everyone gets into a routine and
whether or not she needs a C-section.

Other than that, not much going on here!

Whew! Just reading your post made me tired, Alice. LOL!

Many congrats on the 15 pound weight loss! That is excellent. :-)

Sounds like the new baby will come into the world well-stocked in the
blanket department. What fun! I hope mom doesn't need a C-section.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks, Michelle. I'm hoping to reach my 10% weight loss in the next week
or two. Of course, every time you lose 10 pounds or so, you drop in
allowable points too! I do the best I can but boy, the business meetings
with lunch provided are killers. That's one of the reasons I am determined
to do the exercise twice a week.

Hi Alice,

I can relate about the hardship of eating with other people. I don't do
WW, but I do low carb to manage my pre-diabetes. When I'm at home, it's
no problem, but away from home...it's complicated.

Sounds like you are doing great though!

Best regards,
Michelle in NV

Would it be her first c-section? I had a c-section 4 weeks ago, having
previously had two vaginal births. I only really had talked to people
who had had all c-sections, so they had nothing to compare it to and I
was expecting it to be a heck of a lot worse than it was. The first 48
hours were rough, but once I finally got up and walked (I needed to use
a walker, I have joint problems) things got better surprisingly fast.
The nurse I saw for a post partum check encouraged me to reduce
painkillers too quickly, but thankfully I saw my doctor the next day and
she encouraged me to take whatever I needed. Along with that I took
Colace at the dose they give in the hospital, not what it says on the jar.

I've had one straight forward vaginal birth recovery and one nightmare
one (which is why I had the c-section) and honestly the c-section
recovery after the first few days has been much more comparable to my
first vaginal birth than I expected. The main difference is the lifting,
but I didn't find that easy after a vaginal birth either, your muscles
don't suddenly pop back! The good thing is after a c-section everyone
expects it to be more difficult and looks after you accordingly! Things
like coughing and laughing hurt after a vaginal birth, just in different
places.

Cheers
Anne
