That's great news! She does have the advantage this time of having the Dad
to help this time. This is his first and of course he thinks it will be a
piece of cake! He has been very involved with her first child who will soon
be 5 (day before his sister is due!) so he is used to have kids around and
knows it takes a team effort. His parents live a good distance away so we
will be the Grands on site most of the time. I was very happy when my
daughter asked me to be in the room with her when the baby is born. I gave
my grandson his belly button (cut the cord) and knew Dad would want to do
this for his daughter, so I knew I needed to give them their space, but she
wants me there too.
It's nice to hear that even if she has a C-section, it may not be as bad as
I thought. I'll let you know if it goes that way.

: Would it be her first c-section? I had a c-section 4 weeks ago, having
: previously had two vaginal births. I only really had talked to people
: who had had all c-sections, so they had nothing to compare it to and I
: was expecting it to be a heck of a lot worse than it was. The first 48
: hours were rough, but once I finally got up and walked (I needed to use
: a walker, I have joint problems) things got better surprisingly fast.
: The nurse I saw for a post partum check encouraged me to reduce
: painkillers too quickly, but thankfully I saw my doctor the next day and
: she encouraged me to take whatever I needed. Along with that I took
: Colace at the dose they give in the hospital, not what it says on the jar.
:
: I've had one straight forward vaginal birth recovery and one nightmare
: one (which is why I had the c-section) and honestly the c-section
: recovery after the first few days has been much more comparable to my
: first vaginal birth than I expected. The main difference is the lifting,
: but I didn't find that easy after a vaginal birth either, your muscles
: don't suddenly pop back! The good thing is after a c-section everyone
: expects it to be more difficult and looks after you accordingly! Things
: like coughing and laughing hurt after a vaginal birth, just in different
: places.
:
: Cheers

Welcome back, Alice! :) It's good to hear from you. Your life sounds
pretty swamped at the moment. Congratulations on the 15 pounds, and good
luck to the mom-to-be and new baby, when she arrives.

Thanks, Sandy. It's going to be nice to have a little girl around. I've
