What batting do you prefer? Cotton, poly, some kind of blend? What washes
best for baby and children's quilts these days?

I've been using two recently --
Dream blend for machine: http://www.quiltersdreambatting.com/dreamblend.htm
and for hand quilting Matilda's Own wool/poly blend --
http://www.victoriantextiles.com.au/products/product.asp?products=3DMatildas= %20own
I was very UNHAPPY when I hand quilted the cotton needlepunched
batting from Quilters' Dream. Once I washed the quilting designs
completely disappeared in the wrinkles. I guess I'm just enough of a
70's gal to *want* a bit of that puffy look that poly gives. I think
it's warmer, too, because it traps more air.

Thanks Susan. You don't find a lot of shrinkage with the wool blend?

I just bought a package of medium loft Morning Glory poly for my nautical
full size quilt.
