Way too much fun, Doc!
BTW, has anyone mentioned to you that CQ foundations tend to shrink
up, the more stuff you attach to them? Therefore you need to cut
squares an inch or so larger than you want and trim the finished
blocks to size afterwards.

Not specifically (though it may be in one of the several books we now
have on CQing). I assumed so anyway from my experience w/ DWs quilts
shrinking up between pinning the layers together and finishing - it
makes sense.

My favorite foundation is restaurant grade cotton napkins. My sister
sent me a bundle of them years ago and I used some in the kitchen,
which was okay, but the first time I turned one into a CQ foundation I
was hooked. They all came out of the kitchen and went into the stash.
Yay! LOL. It's fun how we all have different likes and preferences.

What, no linen? Pish-tosh, I say... Pish-tosh! 8<(
Seriously, that's a really good idea. All pre-cut to the same size,
finished edges, probably pre-shrunk from use, and crazy quilting...
what a brilliant way to conceal those unsightly gravy stains! :-)
And it gives me another idea (that experienced CQers probably do as
S.O.P.) If my initial plan doesn't work out, I'll precut my
foundation fabric into identical squares, and perhaps try finishing
the edges against unraveling whilst working on the blocks....

Actually, raveling usually isn't much of a problem. But the block shrinking
could be. It's always best to cut the foundation larger than the finished
block- as you add trims and embroidery stitching, etc, it will pull the
block smaller. When all the blocks are done then all should be trimmed to
the same size.
That's assuming you have more than one block.... ;-)
