Been very busy around here lately with summer activities for the kids and
then all the going back to school meetings etc. Haven't gotten alot of
quilting done, but I have done some. I am working on a quilt for my DDFIL.
DH picked the pattern and told me the colors he wanted for him. I am doing
Solomon's Star from quilter's cache (in fact DH wants it just like her mock
up so that's what it will be). I have been asked to test another pattern,
so I will have that project to do here for the time being, and DFIL's will
have to sit on the back burner. I've also been messing around with my new
knitting machine this summer. I've make a few scarves, hats and afghans on
it and have been having fun learning new techniques. We also got a new QI
about a week ago. A 3 year old lab mix. Her name is Bailey and she is such
a sweet thing. Very smart and very loving. She is a 60lb. dog who thinks
she is a 15lb lap dog at times - she just loves to cuddle. She is getting
along well (she was my in-laws dog, but they had a few others and it was
getting too much so knowing us/her has helped the transition). My kids are
starting the school year again. Hopefully I will have some time to myself.
My little one is in preschool so it won't be a lot of time, but just a
little will be nice. That's about it for now. I have done some updating of
my webshots (sorry photobucket isn't updated yet) to include pictures of
Bailey and one of my DFIL's quilt block if you care to look. There are some
other projects I need to finish and get picture of too. Maybe I can get
some of that done with my alone time. Glad to be back reading the group
more!!
