Kiri has her external fixator off, the cast that followed it off, and
only has to wear the brace that followed that occasionally. All the
metal inside, outside, and in between has been removed.
The wrist is not very strong nor very flexible, plus the index finger
and middle finger on that hand seem to be rather limited in motion.
She is supposed to get PT, someday when they finish the paperwork.
Since this is NY and she has an HMO through medicaid, there is a LOT
of paperwork.
She also has scar dots from where the fixator was screwed into her
arm, and an X from where they put the screws to hold the bone in and
then took them out.
Since her typing speed is shot as a result (prior to damage she was
topping 120 wpm), she is trying to figure out what kind of job she
could possibly apply for. Or if she should wait and see if the doctor
and the PT person think she will get some or most of her speed back.
