Because a friend asked me .... and because the local Craft Warehouse
(aka Michaels) was offering 30 % off on the fabrics .... I joined
Darlene Zimmerman's Clothesline Club. It's not the kind of things I
usually make, but I do like the 30s repros.
So I have all the patterns from the past months now -- none is a full-
sized quilt, most are small things like table toppers or tea cozy. And
I'm getting that insane 30 % discount on the 30s fabrics.
I've nearly finished this month's project, a 40" square table topper.
Cute. I can't follow a recipe or a pattern perfectly, so I am putting
in cornerstones for the borders. I have an actual piece of fabric
truly from the 30s and it's gorgeous. I'm using it for the main border
fabric here.
I'll put up a pic when it's done. So far it's been pretty fun. I
haven't been insane trying to make the corners meet -- figured it
wouldn't really matter, this is just for fun. Imagine my surprise to
find that all the corners so far are meeting just fine. Hmmmm.
Gotta go stitch.

You have fabric at Michael's???? We have at least two Michael's stores
in the area and neither of them carries fabric of any sort.
Lucky you!!

It's not named Michaels ... it's owned by Michaels. It's called Craft
Warehouse and it's like a smallish Michaels with emphasis on framing,
scrapbooking and they have a small but very nicely stocked fabric
department. Used to be better, but about 18 months ago the store moved
to a better location and smaller building. Made everybody mad,
customers and staff alike. Every department in the store shrunk.
Anyway, they are doing the Clothesline Club. The LQS here is snotty
and they have a definite tendency to stock certain lines.
