The dry weather in Florida is really causing havoc with fires. Just call us
the Western Australia. I am sending a link to a map showing how the state is
just filled with fire. Every morning I wake up and can smell the smoke.

Wow! That's amazing and quite frightening! I hope you get some rain soon.

I called my mom today and she had just returned from a picnic a neighbor had
for Mother's Day. She lives in Ocala, Florida. The picnic ended early
because it began to pour! There were no complaints though - in fact they
all did a happy dance. This was a group all in their late 80's. Must have
been quite a sight to see! You go, Mom!

We didn't get a drop today, but I saw the radar and it did look like rain
clouds passed over the Ocala area. Hooray for them! There are a lot of
"officials" that are worried about our fresh water deep wells that are so
low that the salty ocean water is starting to fill these wells. That could
really be a disaster here.

Hope you all get some relief. Just damp weather is better than dry.
When we have bad fires here it can be weeks of smoke (and ash if it
is close enough) Stay inside and keep the air on if you can.
Breathing that yucky air not a good thing. You do need to get out
and do what I call a California rain dance.... wash you car. It seems
to rain more after a car wash than any other time.
