I had a message from my son in Leesburg that it rained at least 4 hrs early
last night. He lives in the Ocala National forest and the smoke is heavier
there.

Barbara, back in SC becase of the smoke in FL

Oh, how awful.
That must be so distressing and frightening.
I hope people manage to stay safe. We saw the pictures from Los Angeles
on our news. It looked like a volcano.

Yeah, see that spot in the general area under the 295 sign? That's where I
am. So far, they've been to the east and west of me with nothing in the
middle. DH and I rode down one of the roads that had been closed during the
worst of the closest fire. Wow... nice and green then blackened, charred
sweeps of pine trees. You can see where it jumped the road and went along
its merry way. Now, I am a firm believer in fire being a natural process of
the forest and it needs to burn from time to time. But this one is said to
have been started deliberately because they caught the person who did it,
even though the news is still saying lightning was the cause. Maybe
Lightning is his last name...
