The state of Michigan has been dropped into the freezer! I woke up to -8
degrees temperature (-22
wind-chill). All the schools are closed. DS#3 is back in bed. Dear QI Samson
has been outside
long enough to "do his thing". So I'm going back to bed for a bit -- then wake
up and quickly get
my chores out of the way so I can spend the day sewing! The heat in the room
with the lights going,
the iron going, the machine going will be quite nice.

Anyone else freezing out there... grab a cup of cocoa and warm quilt. At least
we don't have snow
and/or ice. Just the cold.

After 10 years in Minnesota (and dozens of mornings in the below 0 temps) --
this is my son's first
ever "no school due to cold" day. We never lost a single day in Minnesota due
to snow either.
Guess these Michiganders are just wimps! LOL (Right now -- DS#3 is happy to be
wimping it out
under his two quilts!)

Stay warm!

My thermometer is reading 4 - that's cold enough for me thank you very much.
My computer room is the coldest in the house, I don't think I'll be spending
to much time in here today.

Just got a severe weather alert - according to AccuWeather, we have
high winds which, when you take the base temperature and factor in the
wind chill factor, will drop us to -5 degrees. And here I am with a
son that needs to be severely reminded to put on his hat and
gloves...as in "do it, or get grounded". He just doesn't understand
the health consequences....DD on the other hand LOVES to wear her hat
and gloves....gloves are pink and sparkly and hat is flowered...lol.

Larisa, who still has the coat from NY, which is "good" to -25
degrees :-)

Not quite as cold here, but as cold as it gets for this part of Illinois. I
wish I could spend the day sewing, but alas, must bundle up for work. It's
not even having to go outside that bothers me, but that the heat gets turned
down so low at work over the weekend and the building is a draft old,
converted factory building, that it will not warm up at all in there today.
So I'll be freezing all day at work.

It's -20 degrees here in Western Wisconsin and our schools are closed too!
We do have snow days occasionally, but not this year. I don't recall school
being closed due to temperature either, but it must have happened some time.
I think they worry about kids waiting for buses and walking to school.
