I'm thrilled beyond belief! A good friend GAVE me an antique Singer 15-88 in
its original cabinet for helping him gut his basement a few weeks ago. The
cabinet needs some restoration and the bottom of the treadle has some rust
due to a flood, but the machine and the treadle move smoothly. I have the
original manual for the machine and all of the attachment feet that came
with it, too! How awesome is that?

It'll take some time to restore to its former glory, but it's useable, once
I get a belt for it and do some cleaning. I'm just so tickled! There are
links to some pictures below; I hope they don't split. If they do, I'll
post tinyurl links right after this post.

I also got a second treadle cabinet, but no machine for that one. Inside was
a manual for a Pfaff 6, which is most likely the machine that fit onto the
top. That treadle didn't allow for the machine to drop down into the
cabinet, though. It is in pretty sad shape, but if anyone has a Pfaff 6 and
wants to take a stab at restoring it, we might be able to work out a way to
get this puppy to ya. Let me know. (I've made another posting in the group
for that, in case anyone misses this one).

Happy dance with me, y'all! Once I get this thing going, I'm going to have
even more incentive to quilt!

What a honey. I wish I could hug her. Wouldn't it be fun it she could
talk? I'm betting she's seen a lot of stitching. Golly, look at the size
of that arc. She reminds me so much of the treadle my granny taught me to
sew on. How wonderful that you're going to give her the home she deserves.
Oh my. Polly

Congratulations! A lovely reward for your hard work, and a machine you will
treasure forever.
