Was your mimi quilt at the Mesquite Quilt show last
weekend? I went on Friday but didn't pay too much
attention to the quilt auction quilts. What did it look
like? Then I'll see if it jogs my memory.

Hi Sherry,
CONGRATULATIONS.
Very pleased you won a ribbon - I would be so pleased with myself if I won
anything.
As for that rude, insulting excuse for a woman, she will get what's coming
to her. She may have got the quilt, which she didn't really like or
deserve, but you won the accolades and the ribbon.
Please check with the show committee, someone may have taken a picture of
the prize winners then you could frame your ribbon and the picture together.

Well, this is a wake up call for all of us to carefully read the fine print
when submitting quilts to contests, shows or other exhibits. Enjoy the
journey of making the quilt again, Sherry, but be sure to add something to
make it a bit different from the first. That way yours will be unique!

Now that Sherry's mentioned it, it seems that I read the rules in a quilt
competition where the winning quilts became the property of the sponsors.
That would be over my dead body - not that I feel strongly about it. Yes,
indeed, read the fine print. Polly

I think that is usually only when the winner accepts prize money?
But yes, it is a warning to read the rules - every year. We had some
changes made to the upper size limit of miniature quilts between one

show and the next - could have had me disqualified >g<. I know it's
easy to be wise after the event; but let's hope your pain was not in
vain Sherry (for others).
